The Servant Is Not Greater Than His Lord

The Servant Is Not Greater Than His Lord

The reaction of Christians to ill treatment is seldom that of one who realized that the “servant is not greater than the Lord.” The popular course of the unfaithful Christian, to justify his unfaithfulness, is to list instances of mistreatment which he has suffered. It seems never to occur to them that the Lord expects them to “live soberly, righteously, and godly” regardless of what others do or fail to do. Have you been slandered, betrayed, denied, unfairly condemned, abused, etc.“The disciple is not above his master nor the servant above his lord. It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?”(Matthew 10:24-25).
