WHO ARE WE? An non-denominational group of
Christians who try to serve and worship God as was done in the first
few years after Jesus' death and resurrection.WHAT DO WE
BELIEVE? Our doctrine is the Bible and the Bible only. Our
only cause is Christ. "Where the Bible speaks we speak; where
the Bible is silent, we are silent" -- and we respect both the
commandments and the silence of the Scriptures.
WHERE DO WE COME FROM? Our memebers come from a wide
variety of denominations and churches. Each of us has looked
at the Bible and asked, "Why are there so many divisions in
Christianity?" We have learned that only by returning to the
beliefs and practices of the very first Christians can we truly have
the unity that Jesus prayed for in His last hours, "...that they
all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You: that they
also may be one in Us..." (John 21:21).
HOW DO WE WORSHIP GOD? Jesus quoted God through the
prophet Isaiah, "In vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrine
the commandments of men." (Mathew 15:9). Therefore, we
look to the commandments and examples of the Apostles and early
Christians as recorded in the New Testament.
We pray to God as Jesus commanded, "Watch therefore and pray
always..." (Luke 21:36); we also take the Lord's Supper,
"...do this in rememberence of Me." (Luke 22:19). The
Apostles showed us three other components of worship: a sermon from
God's Word, "Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples
came together to break bread, Paul ... spoke to them and continued
his message until midnight" (Acts 20:7).
Members take the opportunity to give our means to support the
work (1 Corinthians 16:2).
We sing, "...teaching and admonishing one another in psalms
and hymns and spiritual songs singing with grace in your hearts to
the Lord" (Colossians 3:16).
DO WE "STUDY TO SHOW OURSELVES APPROVED..?" (2 Timothy
2:15) We certainly do. In addition to our personal study there
are structured classes at the building for all ages, nursery to
adult, and home studies and correspondence courses at the
convenience of those participating. You can literally hear the
Bible pages turning during sermons as Christians follow the
speaker's references.
WHERE DO WE ASSEMBLE? Our location is 217 N.
Whitford Road, Exton. We meet at 10 a.m. on Sunday for Bible
study, at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. for worship, and at 7:30 p.m. on
Wednesday for another Bible study.
YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED TO
ATTEND OUR SERVICES
AND BIBLE CLASSES.
